Wine Country refers to the Northern Bay region that is home to dozens of top-tier wineries and encompasses many towns. It is located about one hour from San Francisco and includes Mendocino, Redwood Valley, Ukiah, Philo, and Elk. Although the region has no official borders, it primarily extends from the Pacific Ocean to just past 29.
 
Aside from its world-class wine, Wine Country is also known for many of the other finer things in life. The region contains several Michelin-starred restaurants, ample places to view and purchase fine art, and fantastic local musicians. The history of this area alone is nothing less than impressive.

If you’ve not yet tried one of the highly acclaimed restaurants in Wine Country, get ready for a treat you won’t soon forget. Make reservations well in advance at Michelin star recipients such as Auberge du Soleil, The Restaurant at Meadowood, Bouchon, Harbor House, and Single Thread.

Aside from touring the region’s dozens of wineries and enjoying top-rated dining experiences, there are plenty of other things to do and see in Wine Country.
 
As you explore the region, be sure to check out the area’s many natural landmarks, hiking trails, parks, and campsites. Highlights include Homestead Camp at Lake Sonoma, South Cow Mountain Recreation Area, and Robert Louis Stevenson State Park.
 
There are also plenty of opportunities to go golfing in Wine Country. If you are an avid golfer, spend a morning or afternoon at Windsor Golf Club, Fairgrounds Golf Course, Mayacama Golf Club, Healdsburg Golf Club at Tayman Park, and Meadowood Golf Club.
